Day Hiking 11th Nov

Well we survived!

Walk 38 – Ayrshire Coastal Path: Dunure to Ayr (6.7 miles)

The Ayr weather, it turned out was not kind to us after all, which was a shame. But it is Scotland and perhaps should be accustomed to it. It didn’t dampen our spirits and we ploughed ahead anyway.

The scenery en route was rugged as expected with some lovely views over the water and inland. A few difficult spots to traverse including some larger stiles. But with some helping hands we all managed to traverse safely.

I for one, even with damp undergarments, thoroughly enjoyed our first foray into the Ayrshire countryside. Hopefully they may be more. At the end of the walk we retired to the local cafe for some feel good food, some warmth and some light blether and banter, which seemed a fitting way to end the morning.

Thank you everyone who came along. If we go another one this winter, all welcome…

Still interested in a walk, but a coastal walk in November sounds grim! How about a walk in outskirts of Glasgow somewhere?

Up for it and happy to share lifts. Shorter more local…walk the canal Kirkie to Falkirk – train back, Chatlehaurault, Clydeside walkway. Indoor….tunes and lunch?

How about first part of west highland way, starting in Milngavie centre then doing as much or as little as we feel like, returning to Milngavie to cars and cafes etc.
