Hello! I was wondering whether your summer practice, and Scratchy Noises more generally, is for fiddlers only or whether you have whistles as well? And if so is it ok if I turn up to a practice session to see if this is for me? (I´m new to playing the whistle and have never played as part of a group)

Hello Eva,
Any insturument welcome. A few whistles are played from time to time. I tend to only play in the slow tunes as I don’t play whistle often.
Have a wee look at the tunes on https://scratchynoises.wordpress.com/2013/10/24/2916/ and maybe you will know a few of these or have heard them. If someone new comes we try to play a few slower tunes/tunes they might know from the list during the night.
We would be very pleased to see you. We are at Babitty Bowsters tomorrow 7pm.

Hi Guys Paisley Music Festival is running from 15/08/16 to 21/08/16. My daughter Sophie does guitar with the organiser, Tommy McGrory from the Rock & Pop school. He’s looking for bands / groups who can do a stint. Tommy’s suggested Friday 19th in Hamish’s Hoose on Paisley High Street for a group of up to 10 of us. I spoke with Dave about it last night. If this would be of interest can you let us know. Would probably be a small donation for a performance fee.

Hi guys
Gig in Paisley sorted for Friday with August. It’s in the Bull Inn (changed from Hamishes Hoose)- top of New Street – at 8pm. Can we meet about 7.45 to get sorted. The Bull is a smaller pub and well suited to a session type gig.
I won’t be able to manage tomorrow as I’ve got an impromtu wedding, but I’ll be there next week.
