Burns Event – Pollok House, Saturday 19 January

by

We had a fun evening at the Burns Event at Pollok House on Saturday evening. Scratchy Noises were based in the Servants’ Hall at Pollok House and played for about 50 minutes while guests arrived and enjoyed a drink. Amazingly despite being nine of us playing our hearts out, the buzz of chat almost drowned us out because of the accoustics in the Hall – and here I thought it would be the other way round too! But we kept on playing and I think all the guests enjoyed our music which certainly seemed to get them in the mood for the rest of their evening. After we finished playing, we relaxed and enjoyed a lovely traditional Burns Supper in the Servants’ Hall afterwards. Thanks to the team at Pollok House for looking after us so well. And a special mention for Mare Meg!

Great night and a solid performance which shows the benefit of all our practices. Despite hardly being able to heard each other the timing and melody was spot on. Lovely meal and good banter, I’m hoarse after it all.
