Today’s Musical Delights

Had a good day out today.

First we went to Nigel Gatherer’s brilliant groupwork session which was part of Celtic Connections.

We learned three new tunes.  Yaba daba doo!

Some of us had a wee play after lunch and Lesley played her new bouzouki.    There was some concern that some famous people (Michael McGoldrick? Blazin’ Fiddles?)  were roaming about but rest assured we kept the scratches is the right places.  We tried to throw them by knocking out a few tunes they probably don’t know including our rendition of Nigel’s new tune ‘Sloe Gin’ and our normal renditions of almost any tune!

We then went to Brechin’s Bar in Govan 😉 and watched the rugby 😦

Then Take the Floor was on at the Pearce Institute and we listened to some talented musicians.

Hope everyone who we saw today had a good time too.

Well I had a great time at the workshop, and I think we sounded terrific (in a good way). Thanks to all the Itchy Noses for coming, and especially to David for feeding me too.
